Lesson #7: You + Two – Mentorship is Leadership
May 4th & 5th, 2019
Saturday, May 4th: 10 am to 9 pm; Sunday, May 5th: 9 am to 4 pm
There is no success without others. Leadership is not about getting to the top – but how many did you bring with you? Material covered (training other teachers, active listening, activism, mentoring), is crucial for those planning to offer workshops to yoga teachers for CEC’s, manage or own a yoga studio, develop or manage a yoga program.
During this weekend, Advanced trainees will interact with Beginning trainees in a mentorship activity. Topics: Emotional needs, boundaries, intuition, team teaching, evaluating performance and energetic sharing.
Wellness and positive leadership require self-honesty, compassion and actions aligned with words. We will discuss the Yamas & Niyamas as an ethical base from which we may empower others.
ASSIGNMENT: Following the weekend, Participants add to Leadership Project a long-range plan to incorporate opportunities for two others (You + Two). This could include training a sub or assistant; social marketing support.

MONA’s NOTE: The teachers are the heart of Sun Moon Yoga. The success of the studio is based on my supporting teachers, and others supporting me. If I personally have any wisdom to share with other teachers, it’s that clinging to your classes, and not sharing your students or skills with other teachers is isolating. Opening your heart, and offering a hand as another steps into teaching is as fulfilling as teaching your best class.
