Vinyasa Flow may be the most popular form of yoga in our time. This training, for experienced Vinyasa teachers, explores the science behind why this practice makes people feel the way they do; and The Art to designing sequences resulting in specific physiological effects.
Dy-nam-ic: (Physics) Of, or relating to energy, or to objects in motion; characterized by continuous change, activity, progress; marked by intensity and vigor, or relating to variation in intensity.
Flow: To move smoothly with unbroken continuity; to circulate, as blood in the body; to proceed steadily, easily; exhibit smooth, graceful continuity; to rise (used of ocean tide).
Vinyasa: Sanskrit term employed in relation to certain styles of yoga.
Five basic definitions:
- Linking body movement with breath.
- Specific sequences of breath synchronized movement, transitions.
- Setting intention for personal practice and moving towards it.
- Sequential linking of lead postures to form a continuous flow.
- Movement meditation that reveals all forms as impermanent.
ASSIGNMENTS: Participants will develop three Dynamic Flow sequences, based on three concepts from the training, to share with the group.
