How-to-lead an EXCELLENT - Restorative Yoga Class (10 hours)

Saturday October 20; and Sundays, Nov 18th, Dec 2nd

Times:  
October 20: 10:00 am-2:00 pm;
Nov 18: 3:30-6:30 pm
Dec. 2: 3:30-6:30pm

Cost: $150

Restorative Simplicity!  A ten-hour lecture/lab yoga study that will prepare you to set up and facilitate a Restorative Yoga class or private session.  Ideal for yoga teachers or caregivers. Participants will learn how to do a simple set-up, and transition props, to ergonomically take care of their own bodies; as well as learn to position a variety of body types in supportive poses using bolsters, blankets, blocks and other props. Also discussed, including items found at home (couch cushions, etc). In the Lab portion participants set up, and facilitate, Slowdown Sunday Classes with Mona at Sun Moon Yoga on Nov. 18 and Dec. 2.  Topics covered: Physiology of relaxation, guided visualizations, addition of oils, sound healing, Reiki, etc.

Credits: Qualifies for 200hour Yoga Study Make-up of Contact Hours; 
Also, 10 hours CEC’s for Yoga Alliance 200hrRYT.

November/December 2018

Slow down Sundays

November 18 and December 2; from 4 to 6 pm (2 hrs)

Cost: $50

Experience the power of slowing down for some deep rest. 

Restorative Yoga, breathing practices, meditation and Yoga Nidra combine to positively effect your Central Nervous System. Recommended for fatigue, anxiety, healing and also ideal for sports recovery and self-care!  No experience necessary, however not appropriate for those requiring chairs. Restorative Yoga is done on padded floor mats, supported by bolsters and pillows (all provided). Dress for comfort and warmth.  

Two hours of deep level wellness facilitated by Mona Ceniceros, MS; E-500RYT;  owner of Sun Moon Yoga.

How-to-give an EXCELLENT Thai Yoga Massage

Saturday, December 1; 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm (4 hours)

Cost: $150 per person

Experience the meditative dance of Thai Yoga Massage. In this workshop you will learn how to give a one-hour Thai bodywork session. Thai yoga massage is a healing modality done on thick floor mats and combines assisted stretching, acupressure on energy meridians, meditation and relaxation. Participants will learn Thai Yoga Massage techniques; and both give and receive a session. Participants between ages of 12-17 welcome with an adult.  Mona Ceniceros received her training with The Center for Thai Yoga Therapy, 1999.

Credits: Qualifies for 4 hours Continuing Education for Yoga Alliance RYT.

Itinerary:

  • 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Introduction to Thai techniques

  • 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm: Break

  • 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm: Practice Session I

  • 3:15 pm to 3:30: Break

  • 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Practice Session II

  • 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm: Q&A and Closure
